Corporate Communications workshop

Corporate communications is the communication issued by a company or organization to all its public(s). These publics can be internal such as employees or share holders, or external such as the general public, government or educational institutes. Corporate communications serves as the liaison between an organization and its publics and should serve the overall business strategy of the company.

In corporate communication it is important to use the right communication tool for each specific public. Especially in sectors such as the Life Sciences communication on sensitive issues with either share holders or the general public is extremely important.

In this workshop by Fridus Valkema from Schuttelaar & Partners you will work on the set up of a communcation plan for a company active in the Life Sciences, facing sensitive issues concerning genetic modification. By analysing the communication pyramid the best way in which all publics should be targeted can be choosen. You will also practice how to approach the media when faced with critical events by writing (the outline of) a press release.

Part of this workshop will be a presentation by Rianne Roukema, the head of Corporate Communcations of Octoplus, a biotech company in Leiden. She will illustrate the role of Corporate Communications when the company faces challenging times.
