Science Parks, and especially University Research Parks, can be seen as focal points of science- and research-based business. They are generally believed to have an important role in providing the social environment, technological and organizational resources, and managerial expertise for the transformation of a technology-based business idea into an efficient organization. However, There is no particular formula or a system to understand the nature or the performance of a science park. University research parks provide a good and interesting opportunity for research by students. The research requires a variety of theoretical perspectives -such as the theory of the firm, institutional theory, resource dependence theory, agency theory, social capital theory, and organizational learning- at multiple level of analysis. A central question to ask might be: “what does it take a university research park, as a system, to evolve and grow”? | |
